Welcome to a brand new year, my faithful friends and readers. With a new year, I am making some exciting upgrades for my writing, starting with tylerscotthess.com The website may not appear to have changed much, but you’ll notice some differences in content in the coming days. More specifically, I am putting a larger emphasis on updating my blog in the days ahead in a few ways.
1. Tyler’s Top Tip Tuesdays
Not all of my readers care about the creative writing process, but I would like to encourage as many as possible to consider what they do creatively, particularly if they are writers, and encourage them with some of the things I’ve learned through the process of publishing three novels (with my fourth coming along nicely).
2. Behind The Scenes – Thursdays
On the other hand, some of you don’t care so much about the creative process and how it relates to your own future in creativity, but you still might care about what went into the stories I’ve created. I’ve experimented with this before in making “Bonus Commentaries” for a couple of my books, but I want to take it more in depth in talking about how and why I created certain stories, characters, and other elements in my novels.
3. Short Story Saturdays
I’m going to be extra real with you here for a second. Writing novels takes a long time. I don’t even write 400 page manifestos and they take several months to create. But once in awhile I’d like to publish something just to experiment with different ideas and genres, so on certain Saturdays (you never know when) I will be posting short stories to whet your appetite for more and they’ll all be free on my website!
But Wait, There’s More!
I’ve got more news that I am stoked to share with you all. I’ve been working on a bunch of stuff over Christmas break, including updating the covers for two of my novels, The Dream and The Vision. It was time I upgraded to something that looked more professional than what I believe the last set ended up looking like. I had an idea of what I wanted before, but the result wasn’t my favorite. Check out the two new covers and let me know what you think! I love them and I hope you do too.
But wait, there’s still more!
As a final note, I have recently been involving myself in more ways on social media. I’ve started a new #bookideas tumblr, as well as sending these book ideas to Pinterest and Instagram. You can follow more awesomeness in various forms via Facebook, Twitter, and even the mysterious Google+
Can’t wait to go on more adventures with all of you in 2014!
